Grace's Senior Session: Charleston Senior Photography

In this business of senior photography, we meet so many amazing students, but there are always the ones who stand out. Grace is an incredible young woman, authentic to the core, and as sweet as can be. She is not only stunning on the outside, but has a humility and strength of character that supersedes her young age. Not only is she bright, caring, and articulate, she is also an accomplished artist and an avid reader… Of course, we had to include those things in her session!

Something else that was unique about this shoot was that we were able to capture some mother-daughter images. Grace's mom adds, "Lisa and Jordy were truly dedicated to capturing unique and beautiful photos. They also encouraged us to do some mother-daughter pictures, but I didn't want to do it. After all, this is supposed to be all about my daughter!" She continues, "A couple of days before the shoot, Lisa pointed out to me that I was a big part in my daughter's journey to this pivotal moment and I would not regret doing it. Lisa was right. Not only did my daughter and I have fun taking the pictures together, but our mother-daughter pictures ended up being some of our favorite ones." I am so glad that those images ended up being so special to them.

Bringing personal props and items to your session can add so much personality, and can help shape your shoot into something that reflects YOU. Sometimes seniors aren't sure what to bring, but the possibilities are endless. Here are some examples of props and items that can help add depth and interest to your senior shoot:

  • Your favorite book, or a series of books that you love.

  • An heirloom piece of jewelry (like a family brooch or special ring).

  • Sports equipment, like a baseball, cheer poms, or a jersey.

  • Your car (Especially vintage cars or your dream truck or sports car).

  • Art work or props like an easel or brush (like Grace did here!)

  • A pet (If you plan to bring your pet, please let us know in advance so we can advise if it will be possible in the location. Please do not bring a pet at the last second)

  • An article of clothing, such as a special pair of sneakers or a letterman's jacket.

Did you know that no two sessions are the same? You never have to worry that another senior will have the exact same shoot as you, and that's because we curate and design every session just for you. We execute this by getting to know you and hearing your ideas and inspiration. We want to understand the things you love and how we can bring those things to life. From location to final galleries, we also walk alongside you to make sure you feel supported and excited about the process. Senior photos can be overwhelming, but they don't have to be. Grace, the beautiful senior in these images, concludes, "I have never looked so good in a photo in my whole life! The pictures are so amazing and unique!! I’m so, so grateful for how easy and fun the whole process was".

If a custom, personalized, and unique session sounds like what you're hoping for, let's get started together!
